Validators

Validators are the backbone of the GuapcoinX network. Learn what they do, how they earn, and how to express interest in running one.

What is a Validator?

GuapcoinX runs on QBFT (Quorum Byzantine Fault Tolerant) consensus — a proof-of-authority protocol used by enterprise-grade EVM networks. Validators are the nodes that participate in this consensus process.

Unlike proof-of-work mining where anyone with hardware can compete, QBFT validators are a vetted, governance-approved set of operators. Each validator runs a full GuapcoinX node that proposes and votes on blocks. A two-thirds supermajority of validators must agree on each block for it to be finalized — making the network highly resistant to forks and attacks.

In return for securing the network, validators earn per-block GUAP rewards that are split equally among all active validators.

Responsibilities & Requirements

Technical Requirements

  • Run a full GuapcoinX node with high availability
  • Maintain uptime — missed blocks affect all validators
  • Keep node software up to date
  • Secure key management for the validator signing key
  • Dedicated server or VPS with sufficient resources

Governance Requirements

  • Admission is approved by on-chain governance
  • Community must vote to add your validator address
  • Identity and intent reviewed by the community
  • Removal also happens by governance vote if needed

Validator Rewards

Every block produced on GuapcoinX includes a block reward in GUAP. This reward is distributed equally among all active validators at the time of block finalization. The more validators in the set, the smaller the individual share per block — but the network becomes more decentralized and resilient.

Rewards accumulate automatically to the validator's address and can be viewed on the GuapcoinX explorer.

Interested in Running a Validator?

Validator slots are not open for direct signup. Admission goes through the community governance process.

01
Post on GuapTalk
Create a post on GuapTalk expressing your interest in running a validator. Introduce yourself, describe your technical setup, and explain why you want to contribute to the network.
02
Community Discussion
The community will review your post, ask questions, and discuss your candidacy. Be responsive and transparent — this builds the trust required for governance approval.
03
On-Chain Governance Vote
If the community is in support, a governance proposal will be submitted to add your validator address to the active set. GUAP holders vote on-chain.
04
Onboarding
Once approved, you will receive guidance to configure your node and connect to the network. Your validator address will be added to the QBFT set via the governance contract.
